I visited this organization today and met an amazing man who has changed his life and is now devoting his life to helping other ex-offenders change theirs. Jon D. Ponder, CEO of Hope for Prisoners, spent the better part of his youth and young adult life committing crimes and spending time in prisons. Finally, he found faith and when he was released from a Federal facility, he kept his promise to God and started Hope for Prisoners. They are an extremely successful organization. The program has graduated over 1200 people so far, and most of them are employed. Their recidivism rate is much lower than for those who are not in the program.
For anyone in the Las Vegas area, who has an ex-offender family member, ex-offenders who want to succeed and need help, and anyone who would like to be a mentor or donate, please take a look at this valuable and effective program that helps pull people out of the circle of returning to prison, simply because they may not know how to succeed.
